While
the Bible may not have, vividly, recorded a case in which a person renders help
but received wickedness in return: such has been happening since we all could
recall.
In
Nigeria, especially, and African Continent, as a whole, a person may be paid
evil for his or her good deeds, and I want to believethat – it is due to some cultural practices… wizardry and witch-craftiness, which
give birth to witch-haunting in every facet of life, among the African peoples.
There
have been reported cases of people helping some persons to become successful,
only for the persons helped to begin to use magical power or intellectual
capacity to pull down the people that helped them: because, of this, many
people have developed the habit of nosily picking the individuals that they
help, even when they have the ability to help – some would choose not to help
because of either experiences or what they had heard.

What the Bible said about helping
Matt 5:43-48
says, "You have heard that it was
said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you,
love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,
and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be
sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the
good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who
love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And
if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even
the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father
in heaven is perfect”.NKJV
Now, considering that fact that whoever is in
Christ – has the sonship of God, through Christ, and there is the affirmation
of ‘He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world’, one should not
be afraid of what anyone would do.
The Psalmist in Ps 118:6-7 said, “Jehovah is
on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Jehovah is on my side
among them that help me: therefore shall I see (my desire) upon them that hate
me”.ASV
Jesus even commanded that, when we have the power
to help the person that is in need – we must not tell the person that needs help
to go and come back. He instructed that, we are to give to that person – instantly.
Assurance of protection
against evil vices
As a Christian, you are not supposed to be afraid
of any witches and wizards – harming you in any way.
The reason is found in Col 1:9-18: “For this reason
we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask
that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and
spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing
Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience
and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to
be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us
from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His
love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He
is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him
all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and
invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things
were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him
all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the
pre-eminence”.NKJV
There is therefore, no power whatsoever that could
harm you – when you do good. In confirmation of this, Jesus even declared that
‘all power’ in heaven and on earth has been given to him, and in furtherance He
has that – He had released that power unto the church (those that believe in
Him): Matt 28:18.
There must be recognition
before confidence in His name
When the Seven sons of Sceva wanted to use the name
of Jesus to cast out a demon from its host, the scenarios was that the man in
whom the evil spirit was – leaped on them and tore their clothes, that they had
to run away naked before him, while the demon-possessed said, “Jesus I know,
and Paul I know, but who are ye?”, Acts
19:15.
The same thing or worse thing may happen to you
too, either you help or not, if you have not received Jesus as your Lord and
Saviour.
Hell fire is worse than what happened to those sons
of Sceva and whoever – whose name is not written in the Book of Life, who does
not receive and confess Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour will find his or
her path in hell on the judgment day: after death, it is judgment.
Good news
No matter what you have done, the blood of Jesus is
capable to cleanse your sins away – only that you should not return to your
sins again so that you will not have condemnation at the end of your life.
“For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”.NKJV,
John 3:16-17.

then give your life to Jesus today, please say the prayer below:
Father I thank you because your mercy has found me
today. I accept and confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, please, grant
me the grace to continue with you, faithfully, all the days of my life.
In Jesus name I prayed, amen.
