“I HAVE told you all these things, so that you should not be offended (taken unawares and falter, or be caused to stumble and fall away). [I told you to keep you from being scandalized and repelled.] They will put you out of (expel you from) the synagogues; but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think and claim that he has offered service to God.
“And they will do this because they have not known the Father or Me.  But I have told you these things now, so that when they occur you will remember that I told you of them. I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. But now I am going to Him Who sent Me, yet none of you asks Me, Where are You going? But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts [taken complete possession of them].

“However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment.” John 16:1-8, AMP.
We could see, from the texts above, that terrorism is part of what the devil would use (through those that do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour) to persecute the believers: Yet, their persecution was not proclaimed as the end of Christianity.
What is the assurance that terrorism will not be the bane of Christianity?
As Jesus was speaking to His disciples, he mentioned that he needed to go from them so that the Holy Spirit would come and abide with the believers, announcing to the disciples – “They will put you out of (expel you from) the synagogues; but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think and claim that he has offered service to God”. John 16:2, AMP.
If terrorism would be the bane of Christianity – Jesus would not have promised the Holy Spirit, as well as, announcing what He (the Holy Spirit) would do for all believers. According to Jesus Christ, in John 16, “The Holy Spirit would bring us into all truth”, by which we will be set free from:

Fear of those who can kill the body and not the soul with; fear of death; fear of persecution; fear of the spiritual wickedness; fear of sickness and diseases; fear of lack; fear of failure, and the likes.
What persecution always does to Christianity?
Persecution has always been the force that spreads the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (far and near): It happened in the time of the Apostles, and it is happening in our time too. “Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only. But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord”. Acts 11:19-21, NKJV.
No matter the efforts of ISIS, Boko Haram, and other terrorism sects by fundamentalists to diminish Christianity – the gate of hell can never overcome the church.
Why did God always have a remnant for Himself among the Israelites – when they are destroyed in their disobedience?
It is that God might take glory, and that everyone might know that ‘truly there is a God in heaven’. This is why terrorism (being the lead of all persecutions against the church) cannot be the bane of Christianity.
However, “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.  And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time”. Dan 11:32-35, NKJV.
If terrorism and other forms of persecution cannot be the bane of Christianity, let us, therefore, run the race that is set before us with perseverance, because those that endure till the end (only) shall be saved.
There is a joy ahead for those who endure
Endurance in this manner should not be taken for suffering without cause: we endure the persecutions that we face (on daily basis) so that we might inherit the Kingdom of God with eternal glory.
A joy that can never be described is waiting for everyone who conquers the world, through Jesus Christ: you can only conquer the world through Jesus and enter into that Joy – if you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
To this end, we are inviting everyone that has not accepted Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Saviour to say to the prayer below (with great expectations).
Prayer of salvation: Thank you Father for helping me to know you. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today. Grant me the grace to walk with you till the end of my days. In Jesus name I prayed, amen.
NOTE: kindly observe the following, so that you can experience renewal on daily basis:
1.       Get your copy of the Bible.
2.       Study your Bible every day.
3.       Maintain a consistent prayer life.
4.       Set the words in the Bible as the standard for your life.
5.       Tell others, especially your friends that are not born again, about your experience of salvation and what you are enjoying in the Holy Spirit.
6.       Join a church that teaches the truth of God’s word.
7.       Learn to hear from the Holy Spirit.
8.       Constantly look forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Shalom.
