I should start by saying, ‘glory be to God in
the highest’ and ‘thanks to God of righteousness’ for His loving kindness that
never fails: I am happy to meet you again this year. If Jesus tarries, we will both
see the end of this year, in satisfaction.
Please, permit me to say that this is a time
for us to sit-up in Nigeria: it is a period in which we will determine our
government representatives, from counsellorship to the presidency. As a result
of whoever emerges in any of the vacant positions – Nigeria will become what it
will be, soon.
My prayer therefore, is that ‘whoever wins
elective position in Nigeria’ must unite the country and bring prosperity, as
well as, development to Nigeria.
May I
also inform you that you should not be afraid, but to go about your normal
businesses before, during, and after the elections – as there will be no
cause-for-alarm in Nigeria?
Against
all odds, Nigeria will stand united but the people that gave us faulty
foundation and are expecting Nigeria to break-up shall be confounded.
“To everything there is a season, A time for
every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to
plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal;
A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to
laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a
time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A
time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A
time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.” (Eccl
3:1-8, NKJV).
Our
time of war in Nigeria is passed, but we must not let-loose of the possibility
of it again. Our attitudes are what matter. We should keep the love of the
country, Nigeria, in our hearts – anywhere in the world that we may find
ourselves.
